Tour to discover the Euganean Hills
An evocative itinerary between spirituality, history and enchanting landscapes, to discover some of the most fascinating places in the Euganean Hills.
In Praglia we will visit the famous Benedictine Abbey, already existing in the 11th century and today considered one of the most important Italian monastic communities. During the visit it will be possible to admire the magnificent Renaissance cloisters, the sixteenth-century Chapter House and the ancient Refectory, embellished with refined inlaid wooden furnishings and paintings by G.B. Zealots. At the end, stop at the monks' shop, renowned for its natural medicinal products made according to the ancient monastic tradition.
The tour will continue towards Arquà Petrarca, an ancient village with timeless charm, which retains its medieval appearance almost intact. Here we will visit the house where Francesco Petrarca spent the last years of his life, immersed in the poetic and intimate atmosphere of one of the most beautiful villages of the Euganean Hills.
Following, a short panoramic route through the gentle hilly landscapes, among suggestive views, nature and villages rich in history.
